Coaching Narratives

Strategic Direction

A young high flyer found herself in a new role with divisional and strategic planning responsibilities. With good people and management skills, she enjoyed building and developing her people and their teams, but had less confidence in strategic management and leadership.  When she started coaching she was beginning to experience extended periods of stress, clouded decision making, reactive management and some detriment to life outside of work.

Coaching centred on
Creating a mindful approach, increasing decision clarity, and skilful, responsive management;
identifying internal stories that limited thinking and, as a result, options;
reviewing and differentiating personal and career values and their influence over actions;
developing creative, strategic strategies for current role and longer term career.

The Coachee developed a strategic vision for her current role and future career.  Within the same organisation, she has extended her role to develop the skills relevant to achieving her future career vision, benefiting herself, her division, and her organisation.
